Thanks for an awesome 2012

So I guess it’s the time of year for everyone to get all reflective about what’s gone by and to get all hopeful for what’s to come, so if you’ll forgive me the indulgence, I’m gonna chuck my nostalgia cap into the ring too.

2012 has been our first full year of existence, and it’s seen us put out 10 singles, 5 EPs and a compilation album, which seems insane when I think about it. While we’re technically a one-man operation, in reality we’re not, because we get so much support from so many people. From the bands we work with (who are so so much more than just awesome song-machines), to the brilliant Kittle PR, to Mrs Tiny Lights who keeps me sane, to everyone who says kind words, buys records or comes to a show, we’re kept going by a support network of hundreds. So, I guess the most important thing to say here, is thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making 2012 an absolute blast.

In terms of highlights, on a personal level I guess Silent Night, Tiny Lights was the biggest for me, because it was just absolutely amazing to see so many people come together to make (if you’ll forgive me saying so) a fantastic record for no other purpose than to help kids who need it. The last count’s not been made yet, but we recently broke the £1000 mark, all of which is going to Smile for Life, which I’m absolutely thrilled about.

Aside from that, the success of The Lake Poets singles, the Radio 1 airplay for Natasha Haws’ single, the fun of forming a suicide cult for the O’Messy Life video and the japes we had in Offquay recording the birthday single are among the dozens of other things which will inspire grins when I look back in years to come.

We’ve got some big plans for 2013, which also includes the addition of some new buddies to the fold. It’ll be hellishly difficult to try and top this last twelve months, but all of the Tiny Lights family are gonna do our best to make that happen.

Thank you for your continued support.

Paul
